Salary: R930 747 – R1 045 731 per annum (all-inclusive package)

About the Role
Tongaat Community Health Centre is seeking a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager in Nursing to provide strategic leadership and oversee nursing services. This is a senior management role focused on enhancing quality care, operational efficiency, and compliance with professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate strategic planning, policy development, and implementation.
- Manage overall nursing care, ensuring quality service delivery aligned with the Department of Health objectives.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and development of nursing staff.
- Handle disciplinary processes, grievances, and labour issues.
- Ensure compliance with nursing norms, standards, and legislative frameworks.
- Provide clinical leadership and coordinate nursing operational/business plans.
- Promote nursing ethics, professionalism and uphold the image of the nursing profession.
- Monitor performance, service delivery, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Manage human and material resources within the nursing component.
- Advise facility management on nursing-related policies and standards.
- Coordinate data collection and ensure adherence to data management principles.
- Facilitate workshops and staff development meetings.
- Engage with the community in health promotion activities.
- Support implementation of the 90-90-90 HIV strategy.
Requirements
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
- Basic R425 qualification (Diploma or Degree in Nursing) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- Current registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC (2025 receipt for shortlisted candidates only).
- A minimum of 9 years’ appropriate nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse.
- At least 4 years of this must be at a management level as an Assistant Manager: Nursing.
- Diploma in Primary Health Care (SANC accredited).
- Degree or Diploma in Nursing Administration/Management (SANC accredited).
