About the Role
Osindisweni District Hospital seeks a skilled and experienced Operational Manager for its General Wards.
This leadership position is responsible for ensuring quality nursing care, maintaining professional standards, and adhering to regulatory frameworks. The successful candidate will lead clinical services and nursing teams while ensuring ethical practices and efficient hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure quality nursing care in alignment with professional scope and institutional standards.
- Lead, guide, and manage the nursing team to deliver patient-centred care.
- Promote nursing ethics and professionalism across all levels of the unit.
- Ensure compliance with Batho Pele principles and drive patient satisfaction.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to improve service delivery.
- Oversee night services, including management of clinical and non-clinical emergencies.
- Manage resources efficiently and monitor adherence to HR and financial policies.
- Address grievances, manage staff absenteeism, and support disciplinary procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance via the EPMDS system.
- Uphold clinical governance standards and transformation processes.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Degree/Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery.
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse (proof of 2023 registration required if shortlisted)
- Minimum of 7 years of appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse.
- Proof of service and experience, endorsed by HR, is required if shortlisted
