About the Role
St Chads CHC is seeking a qualified and experienced Operational Manager (PHC Supervisor) to oversee the delivery of quality primary healthcare services, including preventive, curative, and rehabilitative care.
This leadership position involves managing clinic operations, supervising teams, and ensuring compliance with departmental policies and programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and evaluate clinic staff performance in accordance with departmental standards.
- Ensure the delivery of comprehensive PHC services aligned with Office of Health Standards Compliance and Ideal Clinic guidelines.
- Monitor implementation of key health initiatives, including Operation Phuthuma and Sukuma Sakhe.
- Manage resources effectively, including human capital, budgets, equipment, and medicine.
- Address disciplinary and grievance matters, and reduce absenteeism through effective monitoring.
- Lead administrative planning to ensure adequate supplies and infrastructure.
- Ensure EPMDS (performance management system) implementation and staff evaluation.
- Oversee accurate data collection, quality reporting, and patient satisfaction surveys.
- Support PHC re-engineering by ensuring outreach team functionality.
- Uphold infection prevention and control measures, including COVID-19 protocols.
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- Degree or Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery.
- Post-basic qualification in Primary Health Care.
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Minimum of 9 years nursing experience post-registration.
- Minimum of 5 years in PHC post-basic qualification.
- Certificate of Service (endorsed by HR) required if shortlisted.
- Degree/Diploma in Nursing Administration.
- Valid Code 8/10 driver’s license.
- Computer literacy.
