Salary: Grade 1 R1 156 308 per annum, Grade 2 R1 403 235 per annum and Grade 3 R1 534 356 per annum

About the Role
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health seeks a Trauma & Emergency for General Justice Gizenga Mpanza Regional Hospital to provide emergency care and support staff training.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Clinical Unit in leading Emergency Medicine Services.
- Develop and implement clinical management protocols and departmental policies.
- Provide specialist-level emergency clinical care and oversight.
- Support quality improvement through clinical audits, morbidity & mortality reviews, and documentation.
- Train and supervise registrars, junior doctors, nurses, and other staff.
- Conduct and supervise medical research and registrar projects.
- Participate in outreach and teaching programmes.
- Uphold clinical, ethical, and professional standards.
- Commuted overtime is compulsory based on institutional needs.
Minimum Requirements
- MBChB or equivalent medical degree.
- Grade 1 1 year relevant post-specialist registration experience.
- Grade 2 5 years post-registration (or 6 years for foreign-qualified specialists not required to perform community service)
- Grade 3: 10 years post-registration (11 for foreign-qualified specialists exempt from community service) Emergency (or equivalent recognized).
